The Governor's Race

Before I start this, I want to say I like Sarah Palin. I voted for her and John McCain. However, Sarah Palin is nothing compared to Kay Bailey Hutchison and she is wrong for endorsing Rick Perry for Governor. In fact, no one would even know who she is, if it wasn't for John McCain picking her hoping she would draw more support from the Hillary Clinton supporters. Kay Bailey Hutchison is the highest ranking Republican woman in the United States Senate. While Sarah Palin was on the Wasilla City Council, Kay Bailey Hutchison was in the Senate working hard for Texas.

Let me pick apart what the Alaska Governor wrote to Texas women."While a bunch of politicians have gone to Washington, hat in hand, SEEKING A BAILOUT, Governor Perry has said we should stimulate the economy with tax cuts and maintain spending discipline."Riiiiight.....I think I also remember Governor Palin saying this, "But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up the economy– Helping the — Oh, it’s got to be about job creation too. Shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americas. AAnd trade we’ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive scary thing. But 1 in 5 jobs being created in the trade sector today. We’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. ALl those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that."

Hmmmmm...It sure sounds like Sarah Palin was for the bailout just like her maverick friend, John McCain. She doesn't even believe in the positions she's endorsing!!!!!!!!!!She also said, "Texas is the largest red state in the nation, and it has a strong, conservative governor."Ok, conservative, maybe. If your kind of conservatism is cutting education spending, deregulating tuition (which resulted in HUGE tuition hikes all across Texas making it harder for students and their parents in Texas), and cutting childrens' health care.

I STRONGLY disagree with "strong"! This Governor, Rick Perry, drew two independent candidates, one from his own cabinet and hobbled to the finish line winning 39% of the vote. The first two independent candidates for Governor since Sam Houston in 1845. I would define "strong" as getting 67% of the vote as Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison did. Ironically enough, Sarah Palin got the job of Governor going against the establishment in her own state winning the Republican primary the same way Kay will over Rick Perry. In conclusion, REAL TEXANS should not let some woman from Alaska pick the next Governor of Texas. Kay Bailey Hutchison is the best choice for Governor of Texas.

So, Kay is announcing for Governor on August 17th! Get excited. Move over Sarah, we have a real Republican woman who actually WANTS to be a Governor!
